Description:
The structural changes resulted from widespread architectural structure and functioning of existing buildings. It also resulted from the need to provide the Theatre-Studio of new updated technical equipment so as to meet the needs of today's comfort, safety and versatility. It was a deep reshuffle that aimed to provide the Theatre-Studio, a new theatre room, a new cafeteria, as well as several other spaces namely for technical and storage purposes. The intervention dimension led to an almost complete overhaul of the Theatre-Studio current structure and one of the outbuildings.
Main pathologies:
Structural elements with disabilities to face the tough restoration of the building, including foundations and walls. Steel components with corrosion. Lack of protection of steel structures against fire hazards
Main interventions:
Reducing approximately 8.00 m ceiling height.
Strengthening peripherical walls of the building with micro-piles.
Permanent anchors to make stable retaining walls.
Walls strengthening with reinforced concrete blade.
Steel columns and concrete walls to support new floors.
Composite slabs for grid floors.
Rehabilitation and protection of steel structures against corrosion and fire by painting, using film intumescent (exposed elements) or mortar intumescent (hidden elements).
