Arrábida Bridge over Douro River

Description:
Viaducts Access and Central Arch 614 m. Arch with 270,0 m of span and 52.0 meters rise, consisting of two 8 m wide hollow sections interconnected by braces. The arch is 4,5 m thick along abutments and 3,0 m along closure. The deck is 26,5 m wide, and is supported by 12 longitudinal beams of 1,10 m (spans) to 1,80 m (pier) variable height, linked by cross beams of 1 / 3 span. The transition piers between the viaducts Access and the Central Arch have a hollow square section with 4 m external wide.
Main pathologies:
Reinforcement corrosion. Concrete defects. Cracking of Structural Elements.
Main interventions:
Restore areas that have been damaged by reinforcement corrosion.
Crack Injection.
Deck waterproof.
General protection of the entire structure.
